The Family Medical Center is located in Lake Odessa, Michigan. As a Family Practice, we serve as the Primary Care provider for our patients through all phases of life, from infants to seniors. Our friendly, professional staff partners with our patients to maintain wellness and to guide through illness and recovery. We are a designated Patient Centered Medical Home and we invite you to make us your family's medical home.


Dr. CR Barnett has been practicing medicine in Lake Odessa since 1984 and cares for many families of 3 and 4 generations. KC Bellin, joined our practice in 2018 as a Care Manager and then became our Nurse Practitioner (NP) in2021.  In the fall of 2023, we added Jamie Snow as our RN Care Manager.  With 2 Primary Care Providers and a Care Manager, we have an expanded appointment schedule and together with our friendly staff our focus is helping you take steps to better health and wellness whatever your medical needs.

Our mission is to serve each patient with compassionate, personal and comprehensive medical care. We partner with our patients for better health through primary physician appointments as well as emphasizing education and prevention through Care Management. 

The Blue Cross Patient Centered Medical Home designation requires medical offices to meet criteria of best care practices to help patients achieve and maintain better health outcomes. The Family Medical Center meets such required criteria as:

Please arrive 5 minutes early so that we can do better staying on schedule out of consideration for everyone.


Thank you for trusting your medical care to Family Medical Center. When you schedule an appointment with us, we set aside enough time to provide you with the highest quality care. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please contact our office at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment so that other patients may be scheduled. Please see our updated Appointment Cancellation/No Show Policy below - effective April 1, 2023:


  • Any established patient who fails to show or cancels/reschedules an appointment without contacting our office and giving at least 24 hours notice will be considered a No Show. 
  • First No Show will be charged a $25 fee.
  • Second No Show in the same calendar year will be charged a $50 fee.
  • Third No Show in the same calendar year risks being dismissed as a patient with the Family Medical Center.
  • The fee is charged to the patient, not the insurance company and is due at the time of the patient's next office visit.
  • Any new patient who fails to show up for their initial visit or cancels without a 24-hour notice will not be rescheduled.

As a courtesy, we make reminder calls for appointments. However, the No Show policy remains in effect regardless of receiving a courtesy reminder call.



We understand that an unforeseen emergency might occur that prevents keeping a scheduled appointment. Please contact our office as soon as possible and we will work with you to keep you in good standing.
